In Conversation With Mancini Made

With a shared passion for architecture, construction and exceptional design, Mancini Made has spent 15 years establishing its reputation in luxury residential construction.

From bespoke homes to complex architectural projects, the Melbourne-based business continues to deliver spaces defined by craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail.

What inspired the creation of Mancini Made, and how has the business evolved to establish its reputation in luxury residential construction?

We founded Mancini Made in 2011. As brothers with a shared passion for architecture, construction and quality, we wanted to establish a brand dedicated exclusively to luxury construction. Fifteen years on, we've built a reputation for consistently delivering luxury residential projects alongside leading architects and through our architecture firm, Home by MM.

Building a bespoke home is a highly personal process. How do you work with clients, architects and designers to bring their vision to life?

That's what we love most about residential construction. Clients who genuinely care about every detail bring an energy and passion you don't find anywhere else. We become involved early, collaborating with architects, consultants and clients to ensure design intent, buildability and budget are considered together. This applies whether we're working with independent architects or our Home by MM team.

We're commercially minded, but we listen first. Our greatest measure of success is repeat clients, including one now undertaking their third build with us. These lasting relationships reflect our commitment to going above and beyond.

What sets an exceptional luxury home apart, and how does Mancini Made achieve this through craftsmanship, materials and attention to detail?

The difference between a good home and an exceptional one comes down to detail. We achieve this through careful planning, experience and premium trades and materials. Our in-house framing business, Framed, provides greater control over each project's structure from day one, ensuring precision before subsequent construction begins. Ultimately, when you walk into a Mancini Made home, you can truly feel the difference.

Looking across your portfolio, which projects have presented unique challenges or pushed the boundaries of what was possible?

Plenty have challenged us over 15 years, but three stand out.

In Elsternwick, we transformed two century-old churches into 11 townhouses, some spanning four levels. Approximately 80 per cent of construction occurred within the existing buildings, involving intricate demolition, excavation and modifications to original roof trusses.

Our Richmond development involved 15 townhouses across three levels on a compact 900-square-metre site, complete with car stackers. Designed conceptually by Neil Architecture, it was delivered on a constrained laneway corner during COVID-19.

More recently, we completed our largest home to date in Williamstown, spanning over 100 squares across three levels on more than 1,000 square metres of waterfront land, with our highest level of finish yet.

As expectations around luxury living evolve, what changes are you seeing in how clients want their homes built?

The biggest shift is how people want to live. Health and wellbeing increasingly shape design briefs, with many homes incorporating wellness retreats featuring infrared saunas, cold plunges, red light therapy and gyms. Clients also prioritise natural light, ventilation and connections to landscaped outdoor spaces. Ultimately, it's about how people want to feel at home. This requires greater planning around services, waterproofing and ventilation, ensuring spaces function as beautifully as they look.
