‘You Little Ripper!’: Marshall White Directors rally for Redkite

On the 4th of October, an air of anticipation enveloped Marshall White's Armadale office. Several of our directors stepped forward, committing to a unique and slightly painful fundraising activity for Red Kite: the 'You Little Ripper!' campaign.

The challenge wasn’t for the faint-hearted. Participants pledged to wax a part of their body, a small sacrifice in comparison to the monumental challenges families with children diagnosed with cancer face. We, at Marshall White, have always believed in community involvement and giving back. This challenge provided us an opportunity to extend our support to families battling childhood cancer.

Childhood cancer doesn’t just affect the child. It takes a toll on everyone in the family. The ripple effects are vast: financial strain, emotional upheaval, mental stress, and social isolation, to name a few.

Redkite has provided hope for families affected by childhood cancer for 40 years. This not-for-profit organisation firmly believes that overcoming childhood cancer requires more than just medicine. By offering financial, emotional, and practical support, Redkite ensures that families have the resources and strength they need during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

The ‘You Little Ripper!’ challenge was more than just a fundraising event. It was a message to families that they are not alone in their fight against childhood cancer. The funds raised would ensure Redkite could extend its invaluable services to more families in need. It was a promise that, together, we can make a difference.

Simon Jovanovic (CEO), John Bongiorno (Sales Director) and Leonard Teplin (Projects Director), were all a testament to commitment on that memorable day. Nicholas Brooks, (Associate Director), championed both fundraising and awareness campaigns, amplifying the impact.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters. Our fundraising page revealed the vast network of donors who stood with us in this endeavour. Amongst the contributions were a heartwarming $5,000 donation from the Jreissati family, known for owning Levantine Hill Estate winery, a significant $1,500 donation from REA Group, and numerous donations from our very own Marshall White team.

Our collective efforts yielded extraordinary results. We successfully raised over $15,000, surpassing our initial expectations. This was not just a testament to the dedication of our directors and the Marshall White team but also to the broader community that believes in the cause.

As we reflect on the success of the ‘You Little Ripper!’ campaign, we are reminded of the power of unity, commitment, and purpose. Together, we can and will make a difference. At Marshall White, we’re proud to have been a part of such a meaningful cause, and we remain committed to supporting our community in every way we can.
