24 July 2025

At Marshall White, property management is about more than keys and contracts. It is a people-first profession built on care, trust and genuine connection.

This Property Managers Day, we are celebrating the exceptional individuals who bring calm, clarity and consistency to every day. Often behind the scenes, always with dedication.

We spoke to five team members from our Property Management team to hear what drives them, what they have learned, and why the team culture at Marshall White is something truly special.

Katie Van Assche

For Katie, working at Marshall White was always a goal, and after a year with the team, it has lived up to everything she hoped for. “Each day brings something different, and I’m always learning,” she says. Stepping into a more senior role recently, Katie admits she was unsure at first but has grown into the challenge. “Now that I’ve found my rhythm, it’s incredibly rewarding.” What makes the biggest difference? “The team. We really look out for each other - it feels more like a family than just colleagues.” With a passion for people and a background in service, property management feels like the perfect fit.

Karen Tan

Karen finds genuine purpose in helping people, especially when it involves resolving issues with care and clarity. “Every issue is a chance to make someone feel heard and supported,” she says. A standout moment in her career was being named Property Manager of the Year at the RER Network Awards, recognising her consistent dedication to her clients. For Karen, success in the role comes down to staying organised, remaining calm, and working with a team that truly has each other’s backs. “There’s a genuine culture of support and respect here, and that makes all the difference.”

Anthony Wiseman

Anthony’s career didn’t begin in property, but after 20 years in hospitality and retail, a pivot into real estate turned out to be the right move. “Sales didn’t quite work for me,” he laughs, “but I’ve made a career out of property management.” One moment that still stands out was helping a family find the right home; one they’re still living in nearly a decade later. “It just came down to really listening.” What keeps Anthony motivated are the people - long-term clients, supportive colleagues, and the satisfaction of seeing others in the business grow into their own.

Bonnie Waterfield

Bonnie’s journey at Marshall White has been one of steady growth, from her first roving role to becoming Partner and Armadale Manager. “There’s always been room to develop and be supported here,” she says. What she values most about the role is the opportunity to build long-term relationships with renters, owners and the team around her. “We work hard, but we have fun together too. That connection makes even the

busiest days easier.” With a strong sense of purpose and plenty of variety in the day-to-day, Bonnie continues to find joy in the work.

Anna Pylkkanen

Anna thrives on the fast pace and variety that comes with property management. “No day is the same and that’s part of what makes it interesting,” she says. For Anna, the most rewarding moments are often the simple ones: helping someone through a stressful situation or hearing a heartfelt thank you from a client. She’s quick to point out that it’s the team culture that really sets Marshall White apart. “There’s always someone to help, whether it’s with a tough task or just a laugh on a busy day. It’s the most supportive workplace I’ve ever been part of.”

Property management is not always seen, but its impact is felt daily, in the way our team shows up, rain or shine. This Property Managers Day, we are proud to recognise the people who make a real difference behind the scenes. To our property managers, thank you for your skill, professionalism, and support of both clients and colleagues. We celebrate you not just today, but every day.
