Located on wide spread ground, with tree-lined streets and famous coffee beans, Caulfield provides the ultimate inner-city lifestyle with a family-friendly twist. Homes are spacious and the magnetic allure of St Kilda is right next door.

In a sprawling area encompassing Caulfield North, South and East, this inner suburb is well known for its striking period homes, Californian bungalows and more recent contemporary developments.

With parks, prestigious schools and home to Monash University and Caulfield Racecourse, Caulfield is a hub of community and culture.

Soak up the sun at Granger Café. The former site of a refrigeration repair shop, extensive renovations has seen it transformed into a modern and inviting space, bathed in natural sunlight. With an extensive and diverse all-day breakfast and lunch menu boasting such local favourites as the butter scotch French toast and salmon nourish bowl, the choice is yours to be as deliciously decadent or heavenly healthy as you please at Granger Cafe.

Attempting to assuage Melburnians’ insatiable love of cocktails, coffees, and canines is Common Room Co. This licensed café-come-wine bar offers generous drink specials, specialty dog menu including all your pooch’s favourite treats, as well as delectable fare and coffee. All of this is set within a sleek interior of glossy whites and matte blacks, subdued by soft timber accents and warm leather booth seating. Be sure to try the herb cured kingfish or ricotta hotcakes with torched meringue.

“May your life be full of colour” is the quote synonymous with internationally acclaimed artist Anna Blatman and they are certainly words she lives by. A painter for over 26 years, Blatman is best known for her colourful depictions of flowers, geishas and landscapes.

More recently her designs have been appearing on everything from coasters to cups. A colourful selection of Blatman’s work can be viewed at the Anna Blatman Gallery on Kooyong Road.

Established in Caulfield in 1993, Danish Nosh is a local institution. Everything is baked onsite daily, so quality and freshness are assured. Recently expanded to include a dining space, the new all-day menu means you can come in, sit down and while enjoy the atmosphere. Try some of their highly acclaimed potato latkes, or grab-and-go some bagels or borek.

With so many cafes seemingly adhering to a pre-ordained style template, it’s refreshing to find one as eclectic and pared back as Einstein’s 251. Infusing Middle Eastern flavours into breakfast and lunch classics, menu favourites include the Middle Eastern shakshuka and halloumi breakfast. Local insight: the café was so named because the original owner lived on the same street as Albert himself!

A quiet and family-friendly suburb with enviable homes and convenient location, and that also happens to boast some impressive eateries and entertainment destinations, you can truly have it all in Caulfield.
