Dear Mercer Community,
We’re pleased to share the latest construction update for Mercer:
- External wall wrap works are nearing completion.
- Roof plumbing installation is progressing well and remains on schedule.
- Stair assembly works are approaching completion.
- Building services installation is nearing completion.
- Roof insulation installation is close to completion.
- Joinery shop drawings have been finalised, with production scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.
- Window installations have been completed.
- Lifts have been delivered to site in preparation for installation.
Joinery from Italy was originally scheduled to arrive by the end of January 2026 but is now expected by the end of February 2026. This delay is due to circumstances beyond our control. Many shipping lines are currently avoiding the Red Sea, resulting in most shipments from Europe to Australia being rerouted around Africa. These changes have added transit time and contributed to supply delays.
The D5 Build team remains fully committed to progressing the works as efficiently and proactively as possible. Key team members, including tilers and plasterers, will continue working through the Christmas period to prepare for all other jobs while getting ready for the joinery installation, helping to keep the project on track.
The current construction completion is now forecast for Q2 2026.
