This might just be the ultimate hyper-SUV. The stats alone can convince you of that.
Lamborghini describe the new Urus SE as having ‘two hearts’…one electric, the other a twin turbo V8. Combined, they allow the Urus SE to reach 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. It probably took longer to read that sentence. Yet, driven on battery power alone, this hyper SUV can travel around 60km, with very acceptable levels of performance.
The combined torque and power levels are Lamborghini’s highest ever in a production vehicle. While emissions are amongst the lowest. Driven as many people will, the Urus SE is capable of an 80% reduction in emissions. Though perhaps not when this SUV is driven to its full ability.
Instantaneous torque vectoring (front to rear), a rear limited slip diff, and the ability to individually brake all 4 wheels independently means this Urus handles like a Lamborghini, not an SUV.
This is a hyper SUV that deserves the hype being both meaner and greener at the same time. This hybrid powertrain approach has already shown its potential in the Lamborghini V8 hybrid Temerario supercar and V12 hybrid Revuelto hypercar. The instantaneous torque and response is also perfectly suited to an SUV – especially one designed with performance at its core.
This updated Urus also has multiple aerodynamic and technological updates to make it an even more compelling drive.
Our Urus SE demonstrator has now arrived at Lamborghini Melbourne, so book in a test drive and discover how exciting this greener version of Lamborghini’s unique SUV can be.
