The McCrae Lighthouse is a prominent local landmark that was built to mark the turning point for shipping in the main navigational channels between Port Phillip Heads and Melbourne.
The picturesque white sandy beaches along the length of the foreshore reserve provide safe swimming for families and holiday makers. During the peak summer months there is also camping available in the foreshore reserve. McCrae is approximately a 1 hour 25 minute drive (90 kilometres) south of Melbourne.
