At today’s auctions we saw good bidding and competition for a number of high-quality properties with buyers hoping to settle either prior to Christmas or over the January school holidays. This was also the case of the midweek auction of 9-11 Ashley Grove, Malvern that was on the market of $6,275,000 and fought out to sell for $7,100,000.
On the flip side, negotiations are continuing for a number of properties that were passed in, and as has become the norm recently, we should see many of these sell either by Monday or in the next week or two.
There is no doubt that the relentless, negative media scrutiny of the property market took its toll today as it has of recent times but with a strong economy, strong employment numbers, record low interest rates and with people and buyers just wanting to get on with their lives, it was not all bad out there! Hopefully we might get some “glass half full” (positive) reporting from the media for a change!
