Discover Your Local: Chef’s Tables

News & Insights
If you have a hunger for an exclusive five-star food experience, book a seat at the Chef’s Table.

The restaurant tradition of Chef’s Table stems from a time when celebrated chefs would invite family, friends or VIP guests to a dine at a special table within the kitchen. Here the guests could watch the master at work and enjoy being served a steady stream of their finest culinary creations.

Unsurprisingly, the practice became a sought-after dining experience, as guests got to be immersed in the ‘theatre’ of cooking and treated to a range of delectable courses personally prepared by the chef.

The Chef’s Table experience has now evolved to meet the appetites of contemporary diners and is available in many high-end restaurants. While the actual table won’t be within the kitchen, you will be seated in an intimate space, and you may get to view the cooking process if the kitchen is open, or the chef may even cook at your table.

Regardless, you’ll be served a selection of chef curated dishes, usually matched with fine wines, and in many cases, you’ll get to meet and congratulate the chef at the end of the meal.

Here are some of our favourites:
