Tropical heat, gruelling mountain climbs and steamy jungle roads proved no barrier for Marshall White cyclists Tom Hayne and Justin Krongold who helped raise more than $1.3 million to support children’s charities by successfully finishing this year’s Chain Reaction Challenge in Far North Queensland.
The seasoned cyclists, who also both represented Marshall White in last year’s Challenge, completed the 1,000 kilometre course in seven days, and with every push of the pedal, increased the more than $205,000 that Marshall White cyclists have raised for Chain Reaction over the years.
This year’s 40-plus strong peloton of Chain Reaction riders, and their support crew, experienced spectacular views and demanding changes in elevation as they completed the return tour from Cairns, through to the World Heritage-listed Cape Tribulation. The very fit and highly competitive team members, who come from a variety of Melbourne-based organisations, use their personal and professional networks to raise significant funds for children’s charities including Very Special Kids and Starlight Foundation.
Congratulations to all involved this year, we loved following along on the journey.
