“Hello I am Grace Morley and I am the leasing consultant for the Stonnington office.

The role of a leasing consultant is to assist new or existing landlords in finding a new prospective tenant for their home and or investments.

Once we’ve done a few open for inspections, we do all the applications, from there we will do all relevant checks necessary, and from then we will set up the tenancy in smooth order to ensure that there is a good hand over for the property manager.

A typical day in property management would consist of checking in with the team, checking in to ensure that the campaign is running smoothly, talk about prospective tenants that we may have come across over the campaign.

From there we will do open for inspections, roughly we will do about 3 opens a day, but it can vary from 3 to 8 inspections a day and in particular on Saturday; there’s about 14/15 inspections throughout the day in each Stonnington, Boroondara, Port Phillip and Bayside.

Based on current trends, it appears the rental market will stay relatively strong for 2020. Considering where we were half way through last year, where the market was quite subdued, we’re definitely on the incline.

We’re seeing a strong demand for properties in the $750 – $950 per week price range, and coming into the end of the summer and into autumn, we’re seeing a high demand for the up-market family homes.

There is a big misconception of the role of a leasing consultant, people only think that we do open for inspections and processing of applications, however there is definitely a lot more involved behind the scenes.

Marshall White do take great pride in the level of service that we do offer. We do make a considerable effort to ensure that we are pairing the right tenant with the right property and the right landlord.
