The price of $1,216,000 far exceeded our expectations. The house is in the Golf Links Estate Heritage Overlay area, and selling it was an emotion-charged decision, particularly for my 90-year-old mother as it has been in the family since it was built by her father in 1936. We were concerned that the selling experience, with documents to sign, a series of vendor meetings, six OFIs (open for inspections) and OFI reports, could be too much for her, but Mark and James were able to combine a business-like approach with patience and understanding in all their dealings with us. We felt some initial anxiety as we had no experience of auction campaigns, but soon felt reassured by the feedback that Mark and James gave us after each OFI and in meetings to discuss the level of interest shown by prospective buyers.
