Description
Director, Auctioneer AREI CEA
With over thirty years of experience in negotiating the highest selling price for his clients, John (or Jack as he is widely known) has earned a reputation for being one of the most successful, dynamic and knowledgeable people in the Melbourne property industry today. He has always taken personal pride in planning strategies that best promote his clients interests and achieve their property goals. His ability to recognise and attract the top people in the business to Marshall White has enabled the company, of which he is a Senior Director, to grow to become a Melbourne market leader and one of the most respected and well recognised names in the real estate industry in Australia.
His auctioneering is different, powerful and most importantly, extremely successful. A number of auctions conducted by John have established record prices including the auction in May, 2012 of a beachside property at 43 Seacombe Grove, Brighton which sold for $7.7 million, Melbourne’s highest auction result for the year. John also set a new benchmark with the auction of Sir Reginald Ansett’s Estate in Mt Eliza, which sold for $14.5 million, a record result at the time for rural residential Victoria. These auctions are a testament to John’s ability to look after high profile properties and deal with high-pressure situations in front of large crowds. After conducting over 3000 successful auctions, John is always proud to be known as a Vendor’s auctioneer.
In 2011, John was named the James Buyer Advocate’s Auctioneer of the Year. He was described in their publication as “The strongest, most effective performer out there now.” John is also more than happy to volunteer his auctioneering skills to conduct fund raising auctions for schools and charities whenever he can. At the 2008 ARER Network Australasian awards, John was honoured to receive the award for Principal of the Year. Marshall White has also been awarded Agency of the Year by the ARER Network for the three consecutive years.
John lives in Brighton with his wife Anne and four children Tom, Harry, Sam and Millie.
